Art & creative work

Anna’s art gives shape to the invisible layers of the inner systems that underlie our lives and operations. Her works reflect archetypes, different continuities and patterns of life and symbolism, seeking connections with the intelligence of our nature.

This page showcases selected works of performative and visual art by Anna Sofia Abrahamsson. She is the partner to turn to when you want to create multidimensional performances, discover artworks that resonate beyond the visual level, or receive coaching to awaken the creative intelligence within your team. With her business background, she can also lead funding rounds and strategic planning of art related projects.

The Nature of a Nordic Woman

In recent years, women’s wellbeing has gained more attention in work, family life and public debate. Despite the reputation as an equality pioneer, Finland still faces a contradiction: Finnish women are among Europe’s most exhausted and violence against women remains high.

The Nature of the Nordic Woman is a collective performance by artists, psychologist, entrepreneurs and leaders, depicting a psychological journey from living at half-strength to full vitality. It guides the viewer through archetypes of womanhood, inviting them to confront and reclaim the aspects of themselves that have been suppressed, shamed or forgotten. The next performance will take place at Isabel Sullivan Gallery in New York in summer 2026.

Edenberg - an intergenerational story

”Loppu. Alku.” Hannah suuteli Fidaa otsalle luettuaan hänen jakamansa kirjoituksen. Hän hymyili ylpeyttä katseessaan.

Absurdi tarina. Tunnistan meidät tästä.

The story of Edenberg is my largest ongoing art project. Inspired by my grandmother, who has written a novel of our sailor family’s stories spanning five generations, I began creating this tale of three generations. Starting in the early 1900s and ending in the present day, it is my personal and intergenerational journey of experiences. I have envisioned the characters as paintings and painted them to better understand the people I am writing about.

Flow states and inner landscapes

Art becomes a doorway to an inner journey when expressed through intuitive drawing or painting. By studying dreams and symbolism, I have deepened my connection with painting. Especially plants and weather conditions play an important role in my art, describing mental states.

The large landscape painting, Vitality, is bursting with life force. I painted it in a two-hour flow state, as the sun set at my beloved summer place. For a long time, I had waited for the perfect moment to capture this view, where a man-made building is just a faint line on the horizon and nature opens in all its beauty and vitality. Using random wall paint and oil paints I found at my cottage, I poured the scene onto the canvas, covering an old painting beneath.

The smaller work with swans is a constantly evolving piece, currently bearing three layers of different weathers and conditions. Two characters - the pine tree and one swan - have remained steady in their places, while everything around them has shifted and transformed.

The stormy orange sunset appeared on canvas in a moment of full surrender to harsh conditions. The energy of this work feels strong; it has fallen from the wall several times, breaking its vintage frame.

Poetry

A childhood passion for poetry has reawakened during the last years. Besides writing poems on my own and with a poetry collective, I love creating visual poetry from images and videos. The poem below is written by me for the Nature of the Nordic Woman performance.

Huomaisiko kukaan
Jos sieluni poistuisi kokonaan

Liekkini oranssina hohkaava sydänlanka
Muuttuisi mustaksi

Viimeinenkin punainen marja
Lähtisi tilhen matkaan

Kohmeisin sormin
Sulkeutuvin silmin
Nojaan tunnottomuuteeni

Lipuu kohtaamaton kohti
Synkässä kaavussaan

Laskeako tämä uupunut hahmo
Pimeiden vetten matkaan

Arkeni jatkaa kulkuaan
Koska muuta vaihtoehtoa ei ole

Katsovat kyllä kohti
Kun tarvitsevat roolejani

Vaan koska joku viimeksi
Näki minuun

Ja koska minä viimeksi
Uskalsin tulla nähdyksi

Leikkiä taas ihmisten edessä
Väistämättä tuomitsevaa katsetta
Varomatta valtarakennetta

Petänkö
Jätänkö
Jos antaudun kutsulle

Olenko sinnittelyn velkaa
Itselleni, teille

Ennenkin selviytyivät
Tehden niin kuin kuuluu

Enkö vaan voisi jatkaa jaksaa?

Vaan anoessani lisää lainaa
Vaivun irti itsestäni
Putoan matkastani

On aikani jäädä

Art workshops

The art of crystallising - painting for leaders and teams
“The creation of art cultivates critical thinking, reflection, and problem-solving skills. It also encourages systems thinking.” Skulky & Kirkwood

Internalise, crystallise and communicate the essence of your work in a creatively intuitive way. Through guided painting, you’ll visualise it in a new, intuitive way. No artistic skills needed: It’s about thinking with your hands. This session empowers leaders and teams to break siloes and strengthen both intrinsic motivation. Organised together with researcher, growth business professional and fellow artist Maija Luukka.
